John D. Whittington died last Thursday at 11 o’clock at Indianapolis. Mr. Whittington is well known here, where he attended Wabash College. He has many friends and relatives in this city who mourn his loss. He is a brother to William, Charley and Walter Whittington, of this city. Undertaker W. W. Scott and Charley Whittington went to Indianapolis Friday morning and returned with the remains that evening. The funeral occurred on Sunday at 1 o’clock from the Freedom Baptist Church south of New Market. The deceased had been a bright and popular young man until a year ago when he lost his reason, the result of an accidental blow received on the head about a year ago. Shortly before his death he recovered his faculties and conversed intelligently and hopefully with relatives who were present. - thanks to S
